I personally like the plain lace top, not the sheer w/ beading. But, in general, I don’t really like the way bow belts look. I like a flatter, flowery belt. That’s just my opintion.

I like the idea of both, although obviously the lace overlay would be easier. I think with the beaded version, I would like to see the beading progress (scattered) all the way through down the skirt of the dress, so that it doesn’t seem too abrupt if it’s just the top part and the belt that are beaded.

@sonnetxvii:  + 1. i think it would look a little disconnected if you did beading that didn’t extend through the whole dress…you wnat it too look like one complete dress not an after thought

@littleluli:  Gotcha ๐Ÿ™‚ What fabric would you use for the belt?

I think it all depends on the feel of your wedding. If you’re going more glam or blingy, do the beading, but if you’re going more romantic/rustic/traditional, I think the lace would be the more appropriate choice.

@littleluli:  i really like the sheer illusion…but dont know if u can jus do beading on the top..u may need to incorporate throughout the whole dress.  Can you do just the sheer top with no beading???

I dont think lace will blend well at all.

How about lace top with bling belt? Best of both worlds!

@littleluli:  If you’re using a lot of mercury glass, I think the beaded one would be better, actually. The decor will really complement the dress. But the lace would work, too. I really don’t think you can lose as long as the seamstress does a good job.
