My best friend is getting married at the beginning of August, and I am one of four bridesmaids standing up in the wedding. I’m super excited to be a part of her day, but will also be preparing for my own life change – I’m expecting a baby in November!
I will be 27 weeks pregnant at the wedding, and I want to make sure I’ll be able to fit in the dress. Luckily we haven’t ordered them yet, but will be in the next couple weeks. My friend had previously looked at dresses (before I told her) and found one she really likes that is v-neck and a natural waist (Alfred Angelo 7363L). See below picture of me wearing it (This is the short version, but we would order the long version). Does anyone have experience with altering a natural waist dress to be an empire waist? Do you think it can be done for this dress? I expect they’d need to shorten the bodice, cutting off the ruching a little bit. I’d plan to order a few sizes up and maybe extra length.
If this one isn’t going to work, she said she’d be okay with me wearing/altering this one is similar in the same color (see below, AA 7375L), but it would then be different from the other maids and still need to be altered from natural waist to empire. She is pretty set on the AA dresses since she loves their “smoke” color. Trouble is, there don’t seem to be any v-neck dresses that are empire waist! Help!
