Has anyone altered the Alfred Angelo Style #8501 dress, yet? I want to have the dress tapered through the thigh, but am recieving different advice/suggestions from seamstresses – some say you can taper it, others say the lace of the dress prevents it from being altered much… I love the dress, but dont want to purchase without knowing what my limits are. Thank you!!

That’s my dress too! Waiting to get it in, I know I’ll have to shorten it, but i don’t know how they can do that and still keep the bottom, it’s so pretty! Sorry, can’t help with the alterations…

When I had Allure 8764, I was told they would take it in from the sides/lower midsection. Kinda pulling it up to keep the details on the train and the hem area. I didn’t understand but the seamstress is very very talented. A bride in there said that’s also what she was told.

You look fantastic in that dress!! And its so funny because that is actually another dress that i am considering. Good to know that the beautiful lace hem is not touched when the dress is altered. Thank you!

@RachaelNatalia: I tried the alfred 8501 on Sunday and was wondering the same thing. It’s exactly what I was looking for in a dress. It’s lightweight and feminine which is how I want to feel on my wedding day. I believe they take off at the midsection like the other bee said and hem it that way so it doesnt mess up the beautiful bottom. I havent conifrmed this is my dress yet, but I think I’m going to. I wasnt allowed any pictures at the store :/ do you have any pictures of you in it? exciting!
