I need help! I feel like I surrendered myself to my budget and now I’m not happy. My dress is beautiful- Wtoo Francesca, which I love…..but I wish I hadn’t chosen a dress with crystal beading. There is beading on the bust. Has anyone broached the subject of altering their dress with their seamstress? I want to have the crystals removed and replaced with only lace. (Look at the picture below) Do you think that it would totally ruin the dress?? I need your advice!

I would take it in and talk to your seamstress. Removing beading is not that difficult, and if it will make you feel better about your dress, then it is totally worth it! Good luck!!

Sure! talk to your seamstress and see what can be done… then at least you will have an answer. The answers always no until you ask!!

Definitely worth it to ask the seamstress. No harm in trying! I’m sure she won’t agree to do it if she thinks it could ruin the dress.

It can’t hurt to ask, right? I’d prefer lace to beads, too.

Absolutely yes! It seems like an easy fix.

Update: My spoke with my seamstress at the bridal shop and she stated that "it is a very busy bridal season and altering the dress would compromise the integrity of the design." AND…"You should sell your dress on e-bay and buy another one.
So, basically, I don’t think she has any interest in working with me…….grrrrrr
