- Wedding: September 2013
So my Fiance and I are paying for our rehearsal dinner and want to keep it <$500 which is very hard to do in our city. I’m proposing to have a really small rehearsal on the beach, but my parents think it isn’t “proper” and will be too much work. My Fiance and I are really casual and are having a fancy, formal wedding so we want the rehearsal to be really laid back. My parents are throwing a Sunday brunch for the out-of-town guests so we are not planning to invite any to the rehearsal. Here’s what I’m thinking:
-invite only the bridesmaids and groomsmen (10 total), their dates (another 8), our parents (4) and us for a total of 24 people.
-someone pick up pizza or fish tacos from a nearby restaurant
-sodas and water since you can’t bring alcohol on the beach anyway
-make s’mores at the fire pit
-play beach games (horse shoes, bocci ball, etc)
-only set up one table for food/drinks and let everyone sit on beach chairs and blankets
What do you all think? I don’t think there will be that much stuff to set up and it really shouldn’t be stressful if it’s so casual. I think it could be really fun and better than just having it at a restaurant, which would be way over our budget anyway. Has anyone ever done something like this? Thoughts?
