Hi Bees!
My dad (who is already generously paying for the wedding) wants to get us wedding china. Thing is, we are already getting wedding china handed down from my MIL’s mother. My dad still wants to get us something heirloom quality that will be valued for years to come, and is really special. But we’re coming up blank on ideas. Any thoughts?
Thanks!

What do you like? He could give a nice set of cast iron pans, those can be passed down and would be used far more often than china. Are you religious? A nice fmaily bible with room for a family tree to be started. Family cookbook of family recipes of genrations past, present and room for the future….

I have always wanted a genuine cuckoo clock that we could pass down in the family 🙂

what about some special dishes for a holiday (christmas would be one if you celebrate but if not christian perhaps there is another holiday that is common in your faith? or culture)
my mother had special red charger plates that she used for christmas dinner each year and some holiday type serving stuff.
you could also do a nice server with a monograph?

Personally, I’ve always wanted a nice silver tea set, but I realize how impractical that is for most people nowadays! I like the suggestion of crystal or real silverware to match the china you already have.

What about a really well made wooden bedframe, or some other piece of furniture, like a dining room table?
