How about getting a 7″ record pressed with your favorite song as a favor or working in some Union Jack design elements?  You could also maybe do traditional martini glasses (the smaller 8oz variety) and fill with a fun colored foil wrapped chocolate or candy. Those stacked in a pyramid are cute or used for champagne?

You can also work alot of ribbon and lace into design elements- think Vivienne Westwood, but in diff. color combos.

What else???

Macaroon towers perhaps in pretty pastels.

I need to think more on this…

If you are going for Marie Antoinette with an edge, then why the pastels? I would think you would crank it up to deep purples, teals, and hot pinks with black accents. Also, be careful not to overdo it all with kitchy items like random beads and fans – make sure that everything is planned out and clean so it doesn’t look messy. I am a HUGE Marie Antoinette fan – in fact my cat’s name is Marie Antoinette, no joke! I love this idea for a wedding and have thought about it myself. Here are a few ideas…

– Chandeliers or candelabras with drippy candles.

– Wear your hair in a pompadour with black ostrich feathers

– Get real Rococo paintings blown up and printed on canvas at a print store and hang them around the venue in black Rococo frames. Look for works by Fragonard, Boucher, and Ruysch.

– Have your bridesmaids carry oversized ostrich fans (the ones they use for cabarets and burlesque) instead of bouquets. You can buy them for your girls as their gift!

Let me know if you want any more inspiration! I love this wedding theme!

Don’t use the Union Jack, as someone suggested as it is the British flag, we are having an English Countryside wedding, with a little bit of Jane Austen mixed in. Be sure to use lots of fluer de lis, as it is the national symbol of France.

I have other ideas, so contact me if you need any more ideas. Good Luck!!!

I would still be wary as to how you use the kitchy items. I love your thoughts about it, but unless you literally have PILES of beads and casino chips and candles and feathers, it will look a little underwhelming – like you forgot to pick it up, but in a bad way. If you are going to do this, go big! Go HUGE!

I saw your PM, and I’d LOVE to bounce some more inspiration off you!
