- Wedding: March 2012
So Fiance has made it clear he doesn’t want the typical groom’s cake. We are from the South, so he is into hunting, tractors, our local college sports team and every other country/man thing you can stereotypically imagine (lol). He doesn’t want his cake to reflect any of that, because we see it at every wedding. I never ever thought he’d be so picky or involved so I can’t complain.
Since he’s made his wishes known, I figured I’d come up with something really different and keep it a surprise. I think I may have found my solution.
Fiance LOVES banana pudding. Don’t ask why, I don’t get it either. Since our wedding is kind of a vintage/southern charm theme, I figured it fit. Then I tried thinking of a clever way to showcase it other than in a big ugly dish and it came to me–dessert shooters! THEN I came up with another great idea. Fiance also loves tiramisu after living in Florence for 3 years in the military. I decided I could display each dessert on the table with a picture of us. Here comes another idea lol…we spent a week in Key West while we were dating, so why not key lime pie shooters? So now, I’ll put a photo of us in Key West, a photo of us in Italy (when I visited him for a month) and a photo of us just here at home next to each bunch of dessert shooters on his groom’s table. Does this sound like a cute idea or what?!
What other groom’s cake alternatives have you seen or had? Pictures are always a plus too!
Now I just need to search for plastic shot glasses to serve them in (figured glass would get very pricey!
