Party bus, horse and carriage…

@mrsalexander:  Does anyone you know have a particularly nice car?  Could they be recruited to be the “limo?”  My mom has offered my fiancée, and me, the use of her Cadillac for the weekend of the wedding.

A taxi might or might not be cheaper, but if it is, what an adorable photo op – the bride hailing a cab, and the whole wedding party piling in – or taking the bus together! It may not actually end up being much fun to take the bus – and someone might spill stuff on your dress, etc., so I wouldn’t really think it’s a good idea, but it’s a fun mental image for the whole wedding party to be on public transit.

Thinking… thinking… if several people are willing to be chauffeurs, you could have a little parade of cars to the photo site.  Then you could give each of these four or five chauffeurs a nice gift.  This could be a fun way to do it, if you have friends and family who would want to help.

@jesssamesssa:  I don’t know that either of those is less expensive than a limousine.

@mrsalexander:  Have you researched limousine prices?  If you only need it from the venue to the photo shoot location and back, and you can limit how long you need the car, it might be more affordable than you had thought.  Maybe not, but definitely fid out the cost before deciding you can’t afford it.

@Duncan:  We have a party bus to take us from our church to reception that will fit 25 people and is $300.  It just depends on where you look and if you can get a deal.

I’ve been transported as a wedding guest in trolleys, party buses and shuttles. I had an inclined plane transport guests at my own wedding 🙂

We got a mini bus… one of those 3 passenger vans.  We used it to shuttle guests from to the ceremony, from the ceremony and to the reception and for the bridal party to the ceremony.  It was so handy and I am glad I added it to my budget.  It was only $120 (driver left after dropping guests off for the reception).

I knew I was going to need a way to the ceremony and i didn’t want a limo plus some guests didn’t have cars so that was helpful for them.
