My fiance and I are having a budget wedding, and we are paying for the majority of it ourselves. Our townhome (where I’ll be getting ready with my bridesmaids) is just 3 miles from the church. The church is just 3 miles from the reception venue. Limos in our area charge you a 4 hour minimum for a wedding rental. The cheapest one we could find was $300! This seems crazy to me, especially for a 6 mile drive! I asked my fiance if he knew anyone with a nice car we could borrow. He said he does, but he doesn’t want to ask them because he will “look cheap.” Does anyone have suggestions for us on what we can use instead of a limo?

How about a town car? Does your area have old looking taxis you can look into (Charleston, SC has these and they are really neat looking).

@BoiledPNut: I can look into a tow car and see how that pricing compares. Thanks for the suggestion!

You could rent something awesome to drive yourselves away in… maybe convertible or something.

@mrsSonthebeach: great idea- what’s a convertible cost- maybe $50?
We’re not getting a limo- don’t see the value in it. You could also have someone with a nice car drive you, so you can sit in the back seat and give each other goo-goo eyes, vs. someone having to pay attention to the road. 😉
