I don’t think you are at all.. The first time I went dress shopping I took both my aunts with me & they had my cousin’s son with them who is a very bratty 3 year old (she always pawns him off on her mom).. It drove me absolutely nuts, 3 temper tantrums in I couldn’t take it anymore.. When you are doing something special for yourself the last thing you want to do is be stressed out, or hearing a kid screaming..

@amyddlz: I don’t think you are being a bit**. There are some places and times where kids are not appropriate and it sounds like they have had plenty of notice. I don’t have children so I honestly don’t know how hard it is to find a babysitter these days.

I think I would go ahead with my appointment as scheduled. I would go with your remaining Bridesmaid or Best Man and anyone else that can make it.

Umm, when I saw your post title, I was like, “are you a bit…what?”  This makes more sense.  And no, you’re not nuts for being upset, but it might be nice to go with a smaller group, and you can always show them the dress later.  Hope you find something amazing.

have them check out Care.com. just put in your city and it has local babysitters with background check informaton, resumes, reference numbers of other people who have used them. I ran into the same problem with my BM’s too. i passed this information along to them and now they all have sitters. easy-peasy!

I don’t think you are. You told them when something was going on – it was their responsiblity to tell you if it wasn’t going to work for them. Can they see about finding a single sitter for all the kids?

bridal stores are not places for children… at all. Tell them either that you’re upset that they waited until the last minute to make arrangements as you gave them plenty of notice or that you hope in the future that they’ll make time to support their friend during this special and stressful time as I’m sure you were there for each when they had their babies.
