MsLittleBookOwl:  No crime at all. I’m sure you look absolutely gorgeous when you go out. You are allowed to enjoy your sexuality, enjoy your beauty and do as you please as an adult woman fully capable of deciding who she gives her time to. One night stands are great, sex before marriage is great, casual sex for fun is great. And you can do all of those things and feel only pride in yourself. As all women should because their ideas are outdated, insulting and backwards. I hope you are feeling better.

As long as you aren’t wearing eye makeup. My mom told me that in her neighborhood in the 1940’s, girls who wore eye makeup were sluts.

2 strokes of mascara to darken the lashes? Slut. A little eye shadow to bring out her eyes, or outfit? Slut! No need to mention eye liner, right? Eyebrow pencil was ok though as long as it wasn’t noticeable.

All that was acceptable was powder, rouge (which we now call blusher) and lipstick.

You actually sound pretty tame by western standards. Don’t worry, you are NOT a slut!

I wouldn’t take it personally if you know your family is conservative anyway. Just move on.

The word originally meant grubby and slovenly  and could apply to men too. Chaucer used it, re a man , I think.

So, I dunno about anyone else, but I can be pretty sluttish around   the housecleaning kind of arena……

The word slut is pretty meaningless, as even virgins have been called sluts; and men who have slept with many women are not called sluts.

Whatever you do, one-nighters, first-daters, be sure it is what you really want, and it is making you happy. Your partners should still be considerate of you, and you of them. Practice safe sex, and birth control.

Those things are important, not a word someone might tack on.

Why do you even care what they or anybody on here thinks?
