tduck1 :  You’re definitely not alone! I’ve had my ring for a little over 2 weeks but I’ve only been wearing it properly this past weekend due to having it resized. I’m so paranoid about it getting scratched, dirty, damaged etc. as I don’t normally wear rings and have never had anything this expensive or that means so much to me. As you said, I’m sure we’ll get used to it but yep…properly paranoid at the moment lol

I’m nervous  about mine, it’s so dainty. But it’s a low claw setting, and I still worry. Lol. Mine is a month old.

I do some. I don’t  take it to the gym because I could hurt myself or it with my activities there. I don’t do heavy cleaning in it at all. The rest of the time I wear it though. Cooking light cleaning it stays on since I don’t  cook or clean without gloves on. Sleeping and showering it stays on too.

I also clean it between daily and weekly. Mostly weekly right now as I have an infant and black diamonds don’t seem to show ick the way my white diamond engagement ring does and my engagement ring is temporarily not being worn much due to her liking to head thrash into it like crazy. My wedding ring is about 12 months old snd my engagement ring will be 2 years old in March. Both 0 issues except one stone loss on the halo and that was my fault a stone and its prongs got caught. It hasn’t happened again since.

tduck1 :  how long has you had it?

I was super over cautious the first month or so but eventually realised how inconvenient it was lol the likelihood of me actually damaging the ring is super minimal – it’s a freaking diamond for goodness sake! Plus it’s insured anyways.

I’ve had mine for almost 3 years and I still baby the shit out of it haha. It’s really the only piece of jewellery that I wear often, and I want it to last!

Nope – I don’t wear my rings weight lifting though but that’s as much about protecting my fingers.

That said, when we got engaged I had a horse, so we specifically chose a ring that I wouldn’t be too precious over.

I baby mine, for sure. I’ve had it for more than 3 months, and I still take it off if there’s any chance my hands will get dirty. I don’t even let it get wet because I don’t want soap and hard water buildup making the diamond look dull. I take it off before washing my hands, before applying lotion, before cleaning the litter box, before showering, and before I go to bed (although not wanting to sleep with it is more for my own comfort). It’s insured, but I still don’t want to damage it and have to send it in for repairs.

Oh I totally will! Ring has been ordered so waiting for the official proposal. Im not a jewelry person, rarely wear anything besides occassional simple earrings. Boyfriend and I talked a lot about styles bc I was afraid of something Id break or knock stones out of. He said to “get what I want and dont worry about it” **fingers crossed**

Meh… I try not to get it dirty and clean it often and take it off if I’m lifting weights etc, but that’s it. Ya gotta be able to keep living, or it needs to stay in a safe.

I don’t worry too much about it.  I do take it off when I’m doing any type of deep cleaning or cooking with meat, but that’s just because it’s easier than having to clean it a million times.  My biggest issue is taking it off and just leaving it sitting around.

tduck1 :  No, you’re not alone! I have been wearing my ring for two weeks now (engagement season twins with vyzie). The first two weeks, I was definitely babying it like crazy but when I saw that it was fine even after scratching all types of metal and fabric, I stopped worrying about it. I knew I would be wearing my ring all the time (except during showers so I don’t have to worry about it getting caught in my hair) which is why I got a moissanite in a 6-prong low setting.

I was initially taking off my ring when I slept but I forgot to put it back on once and felt weird all day without it. I was also taking it off for house cleaning but again felt odd without it and have now stopped taking it off for anything except showers. I wear it to the gym too as I do not do any heavy weight lifting.

I do worry when I am sanitizing my hands as I read a thread on here that said hand sanitizer wears down white gold rings quicker but I’d rather deal with that than with taking it off. It may sound silly but I’m pretty attached to it as I spent a lot of time researching and picking it out and absolutely love it! I have to try hard not to keep staring at it when I’m at work lol.
