Hi bees, I feel so behind with everything related to the wedding! Because of no money available the only thing we have been able to do is put down the deposit on our reception area. If you read on another post that Fiance had gotten hired at an oil rig, that didnt happen after all because to begin with it wasnt a rig, it was nothing close to what he was looking for (he found that job through workforce) and they wanted to pay very little with under 40 hrs a week. Now, it looks like he found another job, which will be at a refinery paying double what the last one wanted to pay and closer to home so he will get to come home every weekend if all goes well! 🙂 I’m hoping it does because we are running out of time. We have only 5 months to pay off our reception site since they want everything by November, and both Fiance anf I are starting to feel stressed. Good thing about our venue is that it comes with cake, lighting, linens, chair ribbons, china, food, centerpieces and they give us a call when they want us to go over and choose it all! We will have our ceremony there, so we dont have to pay extra. Now after reading that, do you think I’m behind or on track since it pretty much comes with it all?
If you feel I’m on track that will help me relax so much! I know the venue having everything included should be less stress, but I guess I dont feel it yet. Thanks in advance for your replies!

I think you’re on track— there are still a ton of details to work out, but you’ve got a lot of the big stuff done right wiith this one selection. I’d do the dress next, but over the next few days start making your “to do” list. Everything from invites and officiant to gifts for your bridal party. Even if you can’t pay for it now, you can at least start keeping track of who you need to call and what you need to buy, and working up a solid budget. There’s still 6 full months till your wedding so that’s plenty of time, but you also don’t have a giant cushion of extra time, so don’t delay too long!

Oh my dress is definitely next! Fiance said that with his first check I can go and look for a dress and if I find one I’ll have the money ready 🙂 and our officiant will be his Pastor so one more thing off the list. Thanks for the idea of the to do list!

What about photography? That usually books up way in advance! Our photographer books up about a year out, so i’d start looking around.

Given that all that is included… I think you’re on track. However with the dress you may want to get moving sooner. You never know if the place you go to needs more time for alterations etc. Every place is different. However, I’m a natural procrastinator so you sound good to me. But also think about the little details. If you are into all the tiny details you may want to give more thought now than later otherwise it might fall on you all at the same time.

Well I found one I really like by looking around online and I talked to him already, we agreed to meet up when we were ready, hopefully we can do that sometime this month, or next month because I know they book fast! Fiance brother was going to be our photographer since he does it professionally but that changed, so we have to go with someone else now.
I know what you mean! I think thats why I’m stressing and I feel behind, I’ve been wanting to go dress shopping since I first got engaged, but that hasnt been able to happen, but trust me that is at the top of my list to do as soon as the money is available!

I would start looking now at dresses in your price range, it might take a bit of time for you to decide on one. They often only require that you pay for a portion of the dress when you purchase.

Well I’ve been looking at them online to get an idea of what I like so like that I know what to ask for when I actually go look at dresses, but I get what you mean, hopefully soon I can go, I’m waiting to have that portion needed when buying a dress.
