This is why I keep details to myself.  It’s too bad but whatever, she’ll probably look overdressed.

Sorry you are feelng this way.

Is it the same color? I think style wise, you would be ok as long as it’s a different color.

On top of that- you are the bride, and even at the rehearsal dinner, you wil most definetly stand out

For me this all depends on what the dress actually looks like. Some styles are super popular right now, so it’s hard to find anything different. If both of you are wearing white or ivory lace dresses, yeah I would have a problem with that. If both of you are in a black sheath dress, well those are all over the place so its likely that multiple people would see one they liked.

Then that is more unique than a plain black dress.

But even then, does it really matter that you will both be wearing similar dresses? You will be the bride, so the attention will be on you whether you want it or not. And her looking good in a similar dress doesn’t magically make you look less good. Just be happy that both you and your friend found awesome dresses that flatter your bodies.

You mention being angry that she would “do this” to you, but the odds are she found a dress she liked (and that she could see herself wearing again) and opted to buy it. Hurting you was probably never aprt of her intention. The way I see it, bridesmaids already have to buy one dress they may never wear again for my sake, I’m not going to force them change the way they want to dress on other wedding related parties just because I don’t want them to somehow make me look less special.

@MrsDeLovely:  I would be mad about it too! They are very similar.  But, black lace is very popular right now – so one of your other guests may wear a similar dress to your rehearsal dinner without you getting any warning at all!

Yeah, theyl look way too close! Could you ad a sparkly blush colored belt around your waist? maybe then you would stand out a bit more…

@MrsDeLovely:  I think people are going to think your BM looks ridiculous! Your dress is gorgeous and I have actually loved it for a while now!! Her dress is too dramatic and way overdressed. I don’t blame you for being upset, those are 2 veey similar dresses! Don’t worry, everyone will be focused on you! It was rude of her to do that! That dress is too unique to be a coincidental buY!!
