Oh no, I’m sorry it didn’t turn out the way you expected. But honestly I think your ring looks better!

It is weird they didn’t send a CAD to approve, but your ring turned out gorgeous!

A small bright side with the pave sitting closer to the stone you won’t knock it on stuff as much.

Its perhaps not helpful of me to say so, but l like the ring better the way it turned out. I think the original design would have obscured the beauty of the solitaire .

You got the deal of the century.  Your ring is spectacular.  I would let it go honestly.

I agree how it was done is better than rounded baskets. You didn’t lose out on anything.

Definitely let it go.  I like it better how it turned out and think the other way would have taken away from the beauty of the solitare!

mrstodd2bee :  I think that lab diamond prices are going to continue to go down. Theyve already decreased substantially over the past few years and you’re going to see even more competition which is great news for the consumer. The OP basically paid Lightbox price for her stone.

OP, I see what you mean – there are a couple of large differences. It would bother me, but it seems like it would be a pain in the neck to send it back. I’d probably just live with it as it is, it’s still beautiful even if it’s not identical to your inspiration photo.

I agree with

mrstodd2bee that you essentially got your dream ring for a steal! I think your ring is stunning the way it is and prefer it over your inspo photo. I hope you can learn to love it as we all have! 😘

I have a ring with a large basket setting too. I’m not very picky when it comes to jewelry but my vintage ring has a few imperfections. One of which is that the basket is a little crooked. Honestly, I’m the only one who ever gets close enough to see it. I wouldn’t worry about it.

sunburn :  she paid only $2k for a *1.7* ct oval lab diamond center including the gold/ diamond setting!  Lightbox only goes up to a max of 1carat and no ovals, no ring settings like that either.

I do agree prices will continue to come down for lab made.   As of today thought her deal was hella good.

Regardless of the price the ring isn’t what you requested, I would have it redone

mrstodd2bee :  Absolutely it was a great deal. But I think that lab diamonds will eventually all be priced similarly.

aurorabride :  If you can live with it that’s great. And you’re right, it’s what the ring represents that’s really important.
