I would try consulting an attorney. It sounds like she changed the contract and wasn’t holding up her end which ends in a breach of contract. However, an attorney might not take the case because it might not pay out enough. I’m not sure how much your package was, and how much you can claim as “damages” meaning your missing photos, your unfinished photos, and the lack of the photographer you paid for. You might need to take it to small claims. You can ALWAYS sue someone. She is trying to scare you. An attorney is going to be able to tell you better than any of us can.

KittyMoon:  Your wedding was in May 2015 and you have only paid slighty more than half of the contracted price. It sounds like you both are in breach. At this point you could either swallow it and have your pictures, sue but pay the same amount for a lawyer as the price difference and still have to pay the rest or cut your losses and set up a new photo session with another photographer. It wouldn’t hurt to go over your contract with a lawyer, depending where you are it could cost $100- ? per hour

KittyMoon:  you are very welcome! Damages your attorney should be able to tell you the worth of your wedding photos and paying for a professional and getting nothing close to that!

This sounds like a nightmare all around. I’m in Vancouver too, can you message me the name of the photographer so I don’t use them?? Haha.
