i don’t think you’re being impatient at all, and i would probably call back today before the end of the day to wait for an answer – especially if the results have been there since yesterday

i’m not a doctor, nor do i know anything about tests like that, but i can’t imagine that its going to take that long for the doctor to look at them and give a yes or no for pregnancy

definitely not impatient.

I would call them. That is a big “if”. I would preface it with the phrase I don’t want to be a bother but I was told someone would call and I have not heard anythign yet. Can I please talk to someone about my test results now. If they say that the doctor has not reviewed them I would calmly say I can hold. 🙂

@bells: review them? For what? Either you’re pregnant or you’re not. The chances of you having two positives and them both being wrong are slim to none hunny.

Um, no!  Why does a doctor have to read the results anyway?  They usually let a nurse do that.  I would be freaking out too.  But if you had two positive home tests, aren’t you reasonably sure that you’re pregnant?  They’re usually really accurate.

Call them and tell them you want the results now!!! That is a pretty big thing to know or not know the answer to

While I think it’s BS you have to wait like this; it is necessary for a doctor to review them. A physician at times knows more about the hcg levels than a nurse would and this is coming from a nurse. The results don’t say yes or no, and different levels can mean different things despite what a hpt says.

I would just call back before the days end. The Doctor does have to “review” the results of tests before they can be given to a pt.. but that can be done by the nurse simply getting your lab results and catching him to look at it in bewteen pts if need be…

Like I said, call back before the days end and just have her get him to read it!

I worked in a Dr’s office and it might be their policy a doctor has to review it before they give results. Your doctor might night not have been in that office all week and has a stack of labs they literally just need to pick up and look at.’

While it is frustrating, I would call back latter this afternoon and ask them to call back as sson as they are able to release the results.

@bells: YAY!!! Congratulations! I’ve had male doctors in the past.. but this go round I have a midwife… I do think that when it comes to pregnancy and labor, and woman will probably be able to relate better =)

Goodluck and happy pregnancy!
