Do you own a colored cardi you can wear with the black dress?

That is a LOT of white/almost white for a wedding, especially a not spring/summery one. Could you wear the black dress with white sweater? Then less white but also not so dark.

I dont think a black dress is too black for a wedding at all! Dress it up with some colourful jewlery or shoes or a cardigan. Or even just silvery or sparkly!  Everyone else will probably be wearing dark colours too.

Personally I think the black on black is better than what you’re considering wearing. If you have anything to add a pop of color (necklace, earrings, bracelet, belt) I would go that route. As PPs have said, that is a lot of white/almost white for a wedding. Especially a fall wedding.

I agree with the black being better than wearing an almost all white to a fall wedding. don’t wear that outfit

I think the dress is fine…so it’s white but it has a pink floral print.  Do you have any colored cardigans that would go with it?  It sounds a little Spring-y but I don’t necessarily think it’s inappropriate since it has a print.

Otherwise maybe the black dress wth a colored cardigan

Do a colored tight with your black dress…that would make it more fallish

I don’t think it’s too much white in general, but it sounds awfully summery for a November wedding.  What kind of shoe are you planning to wear?  What you’re describing sounds like a “white sandal” kind of outfit, which is definitely out of season.

I’d do the black dress, with bare legs?  it must be ok temperature-wise for bare legs unless you were planning to wear tights with the white dress?

No white cardigan with a cream dress….They clash, and are also way too white for a (fall) wedding! I second the idea of a new dress at Ross… Plus, then you’ll have a new dress if a similar situation ever comes up in the future 🙂

If you want to stick with what you have, though, post some pictures! We can probably help a little better 🙂

@Dialysate:  That’s what I was thinking, too. Cream and white don’t go together.

@Leemarie:  I think you’re way better off wearing a black dress with tights than a 3/4 length cream dress, even if it does have a pink print, with a white cardigan. Especially if it’s an informal wedding – sounds way too much like something I’ve seen brides on here debating wearing for their casual weddings. Buy tights if you need to.
