I have gone to five different bridal salons and keep comparing every dress I try on to a dress that I REALLY liked at the first salon I went to. The more I look at it, the more I love it!! My mom was not with me when I tried it on initially, so I am going with her and my future Mother-In-Law this weekend so I can show it to them.
Am I crazy to buy my dress 14 months before my wedding?!? I am just concerned that if I wait, the dress will be discontinued or something crazy…Just my luck! I also don’t want to ride the dress regret bus lol
What do you think bees? Here’s the dress again for reference π

Beautiful dress! I ordered my dress 14 months before the wedding and on my first and only shopping trip. I had no dress regret.
If you absolutely love it, then go for it!

@shamrock1228: I bought mine 11 months before (and it only came in last week), so I really don’t think you’re way off. Besides, that dress is gorgeous! Do what makes you happy, but if you have doubts, you have time to mull it over.

@shamrock1228: I think that dress looks stunning on you. If you love it, I wouldn’t take the chance on the dress being discontinued.
I love the lace top and the little bit of sparkle! Go for it! π

@shamrock1228: I would wait. Dress prices go down when the new styles come out. My dress was originally $1300 last year, this year it is $830, and I bought it for $500 from someone who had bought it and then changed their mind. I see so many bees order dresses and then end up going with a different one… then they are stuck with two dresses and losing a bunch of money. Unless you plan on not looking at any more dresses ANYWHERE (magazines, WB, online) and money/budget is not a concern, do not buy it because you will see other dresses and have dress regret, and you will see the price go down.
Other things to consider:
your weight… do you think it will hold steady over the next 14 months?
your venue and theme (if applicable)… are they set in stone?

@PrincessBride27: I don’t really have doubts necessarily, I am just the most indecisive person EVER!!! I just don’t want to buy it and then regret my decision I guess. I know that once I purchase it I have to stop looking all together. Another thing I know is that it was the only dress that I tried on that made me get all teary eyed and I can’t stop thinking about it!

@BluePeaches: Well the other AWESOME thing about this dress is that it’s only $530! I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the price tag! The bridal consultant couldn’t either…she told me that she thought it was mismarked, but she checked and that was the correct price!
We are pretty ahead of the game with planning, we already have our ceremony site, reception venue, photographer, dj, photobooth and transportation booked! Oh florist too! We haven’t picked out flowers for sure, but we have her booked π
I do plan on losing some weight…hopefully lol but I think everyone orders their dress thinking about that. The positive thing is there is not a ton of beading so I think it would be easy to take in. The dress that I tried on is a 16. It zips, but it is definitley tight. The lady said that I should order a 20 based on their chart, but if I order soon, I will be ordering the 16. I don’t know why I wouldn’t when it zips…though it’s a little tight, like I said I plan on losing weight so I think it should be okay π

Beautiful gown!!
I don’t think it’s too early. I”m about 13 months out and I just purchased my gown this weekend. Only I came home with it because it’s discontinued and the sample/floor model was only a size bigger and in great condition.
So, I’m sitting here with a dress in my mother’s closet that will torment me for the next 13 months. Ahhh!!

Thank you all for the wonderful compliments! This is not the type of dress I pictured myself in AT ALL. The consultant actually pulled it and I almost wasn’t going to try it on! Now I’m glad I did because I think I’m in love π

That dress looks stunning on you! I don’t think its too early, I ordered my dress 14 months before wedding… it arrived 12 months before wedding (now at 4-ish months before wedding). I think its normal to experience some dress regret regardless of how close or far you buy from your date!! Stick with your gut!
