My fiance proposed back in November (on Thanksgiving). We went back and forth about the date of our wedding. My fiance applied to Law School and will be starting this fall (August 2013). So, we settled on May 2014. Decided we could have the wedding right after the end of his first semester. We could have the wedding and honeymoon before his classes start for summer semester mid June.
Well, yesterday – we’ve made the crazy decision to try and have it before he starts school in August. THIS YEAR. THIS SUMMER. SOON!!!
Am I crazy?! Financially – we can do it. thats not the problem. But, summers are so busy for everyone. Are we crazy to try and plan a wedding and expect people to still be able to make it? Are we crazy to think we can plan a whole wedding in such short time? Most vendors are probably already booked?
Anyone else out there ever do this? Recommendations? Suggestions? Talk me out of this or tell me it’ll be ok! haha

Okay just kidding, you’re not crazy. I had a friend that got engaged at Christmas and is getting married on Mother’s Day.
First, check with your VIP’s (parents, grandparents, ect) that X date works for them. Once that is cleared get the big stuff booked ASAP – venue, DJ, catering, ect.
Also, get on dress shopping if you haven’t already. My dress took 7 months to come in, so you don’t have the time to waste.

Nope – 6 months is more than enough time to plan. You just have to be okay with the possibility of not getting your first choice vendors.

thanks ladies! good news is I already have my dress. and it fits like a glove. but – I’m fully aware that it might hard to even find a date soon that works for all our VIPs.

You might want to start looking for a dress too 😉
