carrotcake2003:  did you reset the original diamond or is this an entirely new ring and stone? If the latter I would keep it as is and just swap the two rings depending on your mood. I love halos but I’m not a big fan of split shanks so if it was your only ring I’d probably go for a solitaire.

I’m pro-halo, but that’s only because I have a halo myself and never wanted a solitaire. They didn’t look right on my hand (big hands but skinny fingers) and most of the ones I found were way too high set for my active lifestyle. My original e-ring was not a halo, but it has the split shank and three smaller diamonds….my anniversary ring (what I currently wear) is a sapphire halo (the halo itself is little diamonds), and it works perfectly for me. The sapphire is equivalent in size to a 1 carat diamond, so it balances really well in size. I think the best advice I have is to wait it out and see how you feel in a few months!

I love your ring and I think you should keep it. I think it gets attention because it’s beautiful. I opted for a solitare for many of the reasons you stated wanting to change your ring. But your ring is stunning and I’d keep it as is. I like PP comments regarding getting a CZ a seeing how you like it before you change anything.

I usually am not a fan of halos for me but that is one gorgeous ring you have, so I voted to keep it and be different than your group of friends.
