It sounds like it’s not about the wedding, but about losing you/the relationship. Have you guys been to counseling? That would be my first step before re-starting the wedding planning process (even though you didn’t get too far the first time around).

Counseling might help you guys to get on the same page communication-wise (including listening skills, of course).

@Sweet_Tea:  I agree with @phillybride61513:, It sounds like you guys aren’t on the same page. Maybe some counseling will help things?

@Sweet_Tea:  Will your insurance cover it? Could you find someone in your area that is income based?

Mostly likely he’s not going to help you do anything wedding related other than write checks, pick a tux, and show up.  Everyrhing else is up to you.  If you’ve done nothing toward preparations it’s probably your subconscious coming through to tell you that you’re not ready to get married.  Pushing things off is best but you need to talk to someone to determine what’s wrong.  Do either of you have a pastor?

@RoyalLime:  +1

 To OP: most church wedding can’t take place with out speaking to a minister we had 6 meeting with our Priest just because it’s what my Priest does, but if you attend church, your minister would be more than happy to speak to you that’s what they are there for. Plus in Georgia if you have proof of counseling, your marriage license is discounted. Wishing you the best

If one of your first thoughts is to postpone the wedding every time your fiance doesn’t listen to you, I think you definitely are on different levels.  What are you afraid of if you marry this man?  Answering that question might help you figure things out.

Well it sounds like you have a good grip on your feeling and thoughts.  I suggest you sit down and have a long heart-to-heart talk with your Fiance.  Hopefully, you can come to a decision that makes you both happy.  Good luck.  🙂
