@Tishfish:  Good luck! 9 months is more than enough time – I got engaged at the end of September and our wedding is in June! Having a noon-Saturday wedding will help so much with vendors. And I ordered my dress in October and just got the call that it came in 🙂 You’ll be fine!

You can do it!!

I got engaged in May last year and we got married in November. As long as you keep organized you will be fine 🙂

I say no. I got engaged at the end of August and we are planning a destination wedding for end of May. I am in the mindset that the more time you have the more you stress abt the little details. (And also why we picked Hawaii to lessen all those details) my youth pastor always said that an engagement should only last as long as it takes to plan a wedding and that has stuck with me. I have two friends who got engaged around the same time as we did. One is getting married in April and the other in June – so I say go for it!

A couple tips – we ordered invites from minted and the came in a week after ordering. Our etsy save the dates took 3 weeks! anf I got my dress from BHLDH, you can order online and try on at home and return if you would like. Also dress consignment shops have some amazing dresses for 1/2  Dollar store, ebay, the purchase of your own linins will save you money if you are looking to cut corners. (And you can use chair ties as runners!) to find a photographer I posed our price and what we are looking for on craigslist and can’t keep up w all the responses. Have a contract in my email box to review from one that looks awesome!

Also some of the best engagement advice we got was hold on wedding planning for a month or two to just enjoyable engagement! Best advice welt and so glad we did it. You never get that time back!

Engaged late January, married early September!  And we didn’t kick planning into high gear until July. Our saving grace was that the wedding and reception were at a private home.   Start looking for a dress now!

@Tishfish:  Not impossible at all thankfull we booked our venue before we were officially engaged but everything else happened after we were engaged in January. It has been a little difficult but nothing you cant handle. We are having a wedding for 140+ people in a beautiful historical place with a catered in buffet meal and open bar for about $10,500…:D it can be done but it is work.

You have plenty of time. I got engaged in December, didn’t start planning a darn thing until May, and got married that November. Stay organized, be flexible and do something every week. You’ll be fine.
