KimmyJune:  I did mine for our Destination Wedding in mexico, along with DH’s bout… I did practice at home a few times, but obviously not the same type/style of flowers… It was a nice break on the day of the wedding really to be able to relax, sit down and make something that required me to not think about all the other stressors. We found a local flower market that sells flowers by the stem out of 5 gallon buckets. The only thing that I didn’t like was that they didn’t have enough of the purple color I wanted so  I was SOL on that, but no biggie. Maybe you can find a local flower supplier/market rather than a florist?

My bouquet wasn’t drop-dead gorgeous or anything, but it was mine and I’m not a huge bouquet flowers gal anyway… I much prefered DH’s bout to tell you the truth, and we still have it saved with our wedding memoribilia. I actually grabbed one of his bout flowers off the tree in front of our hotel =) You will need to buy a few items and practice before you leave-I brought with me scissors, floral tape, floral pins with pearl heads, wire (for wrapping more delicate stems so you don’t crush them or wilt), and ribbon for wrapping, plus any add-ons that might mean something to you- i used my grandmothers old brooch…

i have heard of ppl ordering flowers from online & having them delivered to their hotel/venue… I looked into that but since we didn’t do a reception and only needed it for the bouquet & bout it wasnt worth the cost. I’ve read if you do that to really pour-over the reviews and get the flowers a few days early and keep them in water in the frigde…
