I’ve been shopping Etsy, HSN, QVC, Overstock, etc… for a necklace and/or earrings for my bridesmaids. I’m already gifting them their hairstyling the day-of the wedding, but I wanted to give them an accessory as well.
I haven’t been able to find something that is A) in my budget and B) what I like, so I’m thinking… am I crazy to make them necklaces and earrings? I can make jewelry, I’ve done it in the past and gotten compliments on my work.
Wedding is in 5 weeks and I know I can get 3 necklaces done in that time, but will it be “cheesy” to give a handmade necklace for a semi-formal affair? (FH doesn’t like the idea, but he doesn’t understand the whole crafty thing.)

@emmanneliza: No way, you’re not crazy! I think that’s a wonderful idea! If I was able to make necklaces myself, I totally would! I say go for it. 🙂

@emmanneliza: as long your hey won’t look like a 5yo made them at camp I say go for it!

I say give it a try! First necklace over $300 at store…second is uncomplete, but during stranding process, $50. I forgot to get a pic of it finished but it was stunning and just as sweet at the expensive one. I added 4 more strands of beads and pearls to the brides liking and she loved it. For my future daughter in law!!! (They are eloping in colorado this saturday!!!)

@emmanneliza: What is your budget for each girl?

@jessyrez: About $40 per girl, and I was hoping to do necklace and earrings.
