- Wedding: June 2010
I need a woman’s opinion, because sometimes men just don’t fully understand. Still love him to death, but he’s always looking for a solution, rather than trying to fully understand the problem…
So I’m currently interning at CBS News in NYC for the semester. I will be a Senior in college next fall, and will be doing 18 credits (2 more than normal). In 2 weeks (May 16) I’ll be going to Italy for an International Journalism Seminar, and I’ll be there for two weeks, returning the 30th. THEN on June 13, we’re getting married and going to Disney for our honeymoon. This should be our nice, relaxing time together, because we’ve had a long distance relationship for the last 5 years (except for summers, when we’re together).
Since February, I’ve been looking for a job for the summer. NOTHING has come up. I’m really frustrated, because I wanted to make money and build my resume this summer. I have the option of working for my dad (engineering in his shop) to make a little bit of money, while building my resume doing PR for the company that my fiance works for. It’s a family company, so I wouldn’t really be paid – except for helping my fiance out, allowing him to have more time to do work.
This arrangement isn’t ideal. I’d like to have an outlet outside of my family and his, so that I maintain my independance. However, this will only be for 2 months – then I have to go back to school.
I’m so worn out trying to find a job for the summer, even if it is 2 months. We’re also trying to find a house for the upcoming school year, so that’s another stress.
Anyway, I guess my question is – am I crazy to be so anxious about this? Am I over-booked? One of my friends told me that I need to chill out and take it easy for the summer. What do you think?
Thanks, girls. I appreciate it! Sorry this was long…
