I doubt anyone will confuse the two of you.

Another vote for over-reacting.

There’s a reason why there’s so many jokes about the Mother of the Groom wearing beige.  (ie, “Shut up and wear beige”).

Overreacting. She’s gone with a very neutral colour. She’s doing you a favour

Yes, you’re overreacting.

Nobody is going to mistake her as the bride.

Let her wear what she wants, you owe her some respect as the mother of your future husband. It’s also not up to you to control what your SIL chooses to buy someone else.

Plus one for overreacting. I’d be embarrassed if I had the balls to try to tell my Future Mother-In-Law what to wear. If I sent a pic of me in a dress to my FDIL and *NOT ASKING FOR HER OPINION/APPROVAL* and she responded by telling me she didn’t like it and neither did my son????? I would buy it in a heartbeat and wear it anyway, just to spite her. Especially if I felt good in it. Shopping for clothes is hard enough as it is! And even if I did send a pic asking for an opinion, I wouldn’t expect a response aside from “looks great!”

Entitled, much?

ETA: You went back and forth* about it??? What was that conversation about? I’d like to know how she approached you and vice versa.

You are overreacting. My mom wore that color to my wedding and she looked great and the photo’s with us together looked great too.

DanaWeddingGuest :

“After one long boring fruitless dress search, I told her to go to the local store by herself, and if she didn’t buy something, anything, she was going to wear her polyester pants and 10 years old blouse. She found something.”

I love this. I can see my daughter telling me the same thing, but replacing polyester pants with cotton leggings or sweatpants lol. My Mother-In-Law was actually the one nagging me to go dress shopping. For the record I picked a light yellow/gold gown, as it was a spring wedding. No one confused me with the bride, who wore an ivory/cream colored dress.

Not something you need to worry about bee. Let it go. Just focus on you.
