Alright, I know I have one of those over-think EVERYTHING personalities of which is in extreme overdrive when it comes to wedding planning. Therefore, I would like your opinions.
I called my hair stylist to confirm a few details for the wedding day appointments: the number of appointments, the start time, and the number of stylists.
She told me that she understood there were 6 appointments. She said it would be her and MAYBE one other stylist. Her comment was, “I am pretty quick with them so I might have one other person do the prep work and I will put all the hair up.”
Regarding the start time she told me to let her know when I have a confirmed start time of pictures (I told her the ceremony starts at 3) and she would figure out what time hair needed to start.
Does this seem like a problem to you? How many stylists did/are you having? How many hours before ceremony start time are you getting your hair done?

8 girls will be getting hair and make up done. they will actually have 6 stylist there. and we will be doing it about 4 hours before ceremony. which is 3 hours before pictures.

I have just one person doing my hair, 6 bridesmaids and my mom. It’s that way because we’re doing all the hair on site and it would be a lot to pay for multiple people to come out.
We’re planning to start about 2-3 hours ahead of time.

We had 7 people getting their hair done and 6 people getting make-up done.
We had one hairstylist and one make-up artist! It’ll be fine!

We had one stylist for 6 people. Turned out great. We started at 8:00 with pictures starting at 12:00

@FutureKMM — How long did it take your group start to finish?

I had only me for hair and makeup and it took 2.5 hours. I guess it depends on the artist.

As long as your girls all show up with their hair washed/dried and ready to go 2 stylists for 6 people should be fine. It will probably take about a half hour to 45 min per girl depending on the style and how much hair they have. Are you getting a trial done for yours? I would advise that, it will make the day of go much smoother. Just remember they probably do bridal parties every weekend, and they are experts, so try to relax a bit. 🙂

@Gilde37: I don’t remember exactly (not a detail of my wedding day I really paid attention to – lol) but I think it was 2.5 or 3 hours total.

I have 5 bridesmaids and my mom all getting hair and makeup done.
We are having 1 hairstylist and 1 makeup artist.
Stylist was saying 20 min/bridesmaid and 30-45 min for me.
Makeup takes about 20 min a person (maybe a little longer for me).

There will be 3 stylists present for 4 of us, which is probably more than necessary. I originally made the appointment for 11 am for a 3-3:30 ceremony start (haven’t finalized the details of that yet) but I ended up changing it to 10 am because I’m paranoid about not having enough time to finish getting ready and do our first look before the ceremony (I’m going to a salon about 20 minutes from the venue.)

i had one hair stylist – only my Maid/Matron of Honor came with me, she had her own stylist…but it took her about an hour to do mine. i had my appointment at 9:30am for hair and 11:30am for makeup for a 3:00 wedding.
I would suggest making them earlier! like 8….i was leaving the mac counter at 1:15 and needed to be at the church at 1:30 – i’ve never felt so rushed in my life.

We had 5 people getting hair done, but the salon booked us all concurrently with 5 different stylists so it only took like an hour (maybe a little more for mine). The others girls were done faster though… so if you had maybe like 2-3 hours I think 2 people would be fine for 6.
