Hi everyone! Back at the end of February I switched the type of birth control I was on. I had been on that bcp for almost 6 years. I had a skipped a period while on that bcp once. It was called Minastrin 24 FE. My doctor switched me to Lo Loestrin 24 FE. Ever since the switch I have skipped 2 periods. I took a pregnancy test when I skipped the first period about 3 days after I missed and it was negative. The second skipped period I took it one day before I was to get it and it was negative. Took another one the day after I was to get it and I was still negative. I do not have any pregnancy symptoms, but of course I’m freaking out. I took my pill everyday same time as I have an app that tells me to take it and tracks the time I take it too. I am a very active person and run half marathons. I also had just started a new job and my stress levels are through the roof.
Does anyone have a similar story? Should I take another test different brand? Do I go see my doctor?
Please help. While I would not mind being pregnant, I ideally wanted to plan this out a little better.

Sure, it’s possible you could be pregnant, but I think if you are taking your birth control as recommended, it is far more likely that your body is just getting used to the new birth control. Usually if you are taking a pregnancy test after your period is due, it will be positive if you are pregnant.

I was on that BC and AF showed up every once in a blue moon. I loved that BC for that reason. The times AF came was when I missed a day of taking the pill.

I doubt you’re pregnant after that many negative tests. I was on that BC years ago and I never had periods– the break in pills wasn’t long enough to trigger a period. I changed pills since I was tired of taking tests.

when I was on BC for years, eventually my period started to become almost nothing and then nothing at all. OBGYN told me it was totally normal for you to stop having periods on it after an extended period of time. Make an apt with your OBGYN and talk to them about your concerns. Its scary to not get a period when you expect one. You could switch to a bc that you arent supposed to get a period on or just be reassured that its normal to skip your period after being on bc for a long time. If you really missed your period and were pregnant you would def have a pos test by now. PS- I was on loloestrin as well

loestrin made my body go through SO many changes- way more than any other bc.
it could just be side effects

Thank you all so much! It gives me some peace of mind knowing I’m not the only one. I will be switching to my old BC tomorrow because this no period thing just doesn’t work for me mentally

I went about 5 months without a period on LoEstrin. My doctor told me it was completely normal for you to skip or completely stop having periods on it. Stress and the switch in BC could be the contributor to your missed periods as well.
