I don’t think so, I started planning our wedding as soon as Fiance proposed (June 2010). I had alot of things done right away and then took a little break, then went back to it full force.

I think the concern with planning early is that it is then possible to get closer to the date and decide you want something different from what you already have. That can often mean lots of extra money, work, and stress. It’s different for each bride.

Its great that you’re getting so much done! Just make sure you’re 100% sure on all your decisisons. Your style or vision can change a lot in 1 year- I know mine definitely did. Good luck!

I had a long engagement, and a few things still caught up with me in the final months. Keep plugging along — you’ll be happy that you did when next June rolls around!

@hiroshymatetrastar:  For me it was the best thing I did, I bought my dress within the first 2 months of being engaged, booked the hall soon after, dj and photog as well. It give me plenty of time to concentrate on all the little details I wanna do and make them and also enjoy my engagement and not have to worry too much about all the stuff that needs to be done leading up to the wedding.

I don’t think so. We are getting married in August but I started planning last summer. My step sister got married in April and I remember her saying in like Feb or March she was going to look at flowers and cake and I already had all that done in like January when my wedding is 4 months later than hers. Some people procrastinate and some people (like me) like to get things done early. I am now a little over 2 months away from my wedding and I am so glad to have all the big stuff done but trust me you won’t have nothing to do, all the little things you don’t think about will start hitting you the months before and you will end up being able to do that stuff without becoming a giant ball of stress because you planned early.

@hiroshymatetrastar:  i dont think your too far ahead.  I did a lot of early planning too.  the only concern from your list is the Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses.  Do you know if the style you chose could get discontinued?  That would worry me.  Also, if your BMs ordered them already I would be worried about sizing or any fallouts that could occur with your girls.  But other than that, I see no problems!
