I have a date, venue, caterer and photographer. And a groom 🙂
I’m still not sure who my bridal party will be, other than FI’s 2 sisters for sure. We still need florist, DJ, and all those small details…like a dress. Am I slacking? People keep saying “omg!! You havent gone dress shopping yet?!!”. I was planning to go in December-ish. Is that bad?

Ha! My wedding is a week after yours and you have MUCH more planned than I… So I’d say “no, take it one item at a time”, that’s how I’m handling it.

You are def not! I’ve done alot but that’s just me, I like to have things done ahead of time so I can enjoy being engaged 🙂

Everyone on here is ahead of me, I have a venue and a Fiancee’ lol, oh and my colors and bridal party, but not much as far as vendors. I wasn’t going to dress shop until Jan/Feb also….I am starting to think that is too late?

I think you’re on track. I didn’t choose my venue until yesterday.I have gone dress shopping but came to no conclusions. I think if you plan everything in your head it will be easy when the time comes to actually do it. At least that’s what I’m hoping. Obviously don’t wait TOO long for the dress because they do need time to alter it and all. From obsessively watching “Say Yes to the Dress” I know if you’re custom ordering it you need something like 8 months.

You are on the right path…. You do what you want at your pace

I just went dress shopping and they said my dress should take 6-9 months to come in and I thought that was a little extreme. But I would imagine December should be fine, you’re right on track!

@Nicoley1985:I know! Ordering a dress is like waiting for a baby to be born.

@Nellular: Haha I know! My aunt was like “Whoa, you could have a baby in that time! Wait don’t actually have a baby in that time…” Yeah let’s hope not, or my dress would never fit 😉

I think you are completely normal – I’m the crazy one! I have just about everything done except for a few minor details like song choices and attendants’ gifts.

Oh wow- I thought I was doing so well and you have vendors already?? We have the venue and date, wedding party, and idea of what we want in terms of decor and design. I have my dress (it was ordered from jcrew and arrived in 3 days haha). I also have the jewelry I am going to wear with it.
I think our next step is choosing vendors- 1)catering/bar, 2)photographer, and 3)DJ
That was the most important to me- everything else I figure can fall into place. Save the Dates will go out via postcards or online paperless post in January.
