I just did Day one of the 30 day shred and I can tell it’s going to be a great workout, also, tons of awesome reviews….however, I woke up this morning and am so sore. Does anyone know am I supposed to push through it and do it everyday or should I skip a day? Thanks for the input!

Technically, you’re supposed to do it every day. I skipped some days though because life happens, and yes, I’d be super sore some days! Not the end of the world!

I read in some article interviewing Jillian that you should do it 5, maybe 6 days a week.

If you’re sore the worst thing you could do is avoid moving around. Try doing it again, but maybe follow along with the “easier” person. At the very least, stretch a lot and go for a walk/jog. You need to get oxygen flowing to your muscles so that they don’t hurt anymore!
And eat a banana, potassium helps with muscle soreness.

Wow, I couldn’t do it every day. The first time you do a new level is torture for a few days after!

i started by doing it 3 days a week, then worked my way up to 5-6

The official program with the shred is to do it everyday–10 days at each level. Some people do it every other day; others do it 5x/wk.
But do you HAVE to? Of course not. However, I second MandaMack. I was hella sore after the first day, second day, third day…and then it started to abate. But you don’t necessarily have to shred–you can take a brisk walk, do yoga, etc. just get your body moving a little.

I broke it down. Level 1-10 days in a row. Rested 2 days. Level 2-10 days in a row. Rested 2 days. Level 3-10 days in a row, rested 2 days. That worked great for me.

I did it everyday and got crazy awesome results – 15 pounds in 30 days. That being said, I haven’t done that again and probably wouldn’t do it that way again. It stressed out my knees a bit. I think it would be best to do 5 days a week with 2 days off – so you would finish in 6 weeks.
Rest days are important!

I just laughed so hard when I saw your post because I asked myself the same question the first day after doing the workout. Only it sounded more like “wtf? Ouch! Am I supposed to do this $%^* workout every day??”

Thanks for the suggestions ladies! I actually took today off from the Shred but I’m a swimmer so I just did 3,200 yards. I will try to go back to it tomorrow, I might alternate days with the swimming but I’ll have to see, if it gets easier then I’ll try every day. Congrats hitchedinhawaii for losing 15 lbs!
