I really do usually like these girls…and think thier mother is one spunky chick who got a bum deal, but geez…they looked terrible!
On the other hand…
The stars of the whole shebang really hit a home run. Total fairytale!

LOL you are not alone. I actually explained it just like this to my FI!

I think they’re totally crazy and nuts, but I also kind of liked the look! I mean they’re princesses. They don’t really give a shit if people think they look like idiots, lol.

HAHAHA I thought the exact same thing!! I thought I was the only one who went there!!!

I thought the blue dress was way too much, but the hats are quite interesting and appropriate for British fashion. The nude coat dress is actually quite interesting/pretty. Crazy hats = british tradition. I like that they aren’t afraid to be more interesting and to take chances.

I do think her hat was quite over the top, but as I recall the British monarchs have always had their few daring hat fashion icons. This dates back to even before Anne Boleyn’s daring fashion statement of a French hood rather than the more modest boxed English style. I doubt this crazy obsession of hats will die down any time soon…

You aren’t the only one! Same here LOL

The blue hat is kind of nice for the occasion and doesn’t seem outrageous. The nude hat is bizarre. It looks like a piece of furniture is stuck on her head.

If those hats are “high fashion”, I guess I don’t have any fashion sense! They are HIDEOUS!
Especially the one on the right. WTF is that thing?!

@Blondee: Yes. That hat looks like a toilet seat, in my opinion. The blue one isn’t nearly as bad, but I think the expression on her face probably makes her more unappealing than she would have appeared otherwise.

So happy you posted this! I was just telling Fiance the other day that these two drive me nuts as their so attention hungry! I was whinging about their outfits and saying that they totally wanted all eyes on them when the day was so clearly not about them – ugh! Love your comparisons to Cinderella’s wicked stepsisters – spot on!
Now the royal couple on the other hand…. sigh, I adore them.

all I can say is wtf why? and who the hell let them out of the house like this? they are princesses with all that money at their disposal and could wear anything and this is what they picked.

The blue dress is just uck, it looks like a crazy watercolor painting, I’m not a fan. Her hat isn’t too bad, but still doesn’t do anything for me. The nude dress/coat was very appropriate but the hat…oh the hat. It’s very who-ville (Dr. Seuss) to me. Every time I see it all I can think about is the resemblance to Cindy Lou Who.

I LOVE the big, outrageous hats! Now, would I wear the pinky-brownish one, no. But I do give her credit for being willing to take a risk!
