LOL and no. I always open the door and look in the back window. I’m more afraid of strange homeless people who have climbed in, but its almost the same.

@EverAfterBegins: Nope, I do it too.  I make sure there’s nobody in my car before I get in.  Sometimes I even feel around in case they’re laying down.

I do when I park on the roof of the parking garage since it is usually deserted and not well lit!

Nope. I always check the backseat before I get in. We were taught to do that in an RCMP presentation on safety for women.

It’s even more important now that I leave my car unlocked and the windows rolled halfway open. We have had too many windows broken by losers trying to steal from cars in our underground parking lot. This way they can just open the door and find out there is nothing to steal. They are not the least bit interested in stealing cars- just stealing things they can sell/pawn.

Nope. I do it all the time. I will also check under the car if it’s dark, a remote location, or there’s nobody around. I’ve seen too many people get their Achilles tendons slashed in horror movies.

I do that every time I get in a car at night, even in my parents driveway. So funny.

The back seats of our Jeep are down so  its all flat and I can ensure that there is no axe murderers in the back 😉

You are not alone at all!  I actually try to look under the car as I drive up too.

No, I do it too, unless I’m in the 2 seat convertible.

You are not alone. I am guilty.

Getting in car at night + being alone = checking backseat for axe murderers.
