I hate being drunk, and I find it so hard to believe that people actually like being drunk. I can certainly understand how people could enjoy the feeling up to point of being drunk, but to actually cross into the threshold of drunk… no thanks.
My problem is that I LOVE the taste of alcohol in my drinks (not pure alcohol though), so I really have to pace myself throughout the night. I’ve found that if I add just enough alochol to flavor my beverage and to get a little buzz from it, I am good. Wine is my only true enemy. I love the taste of wine, and don’t like it watered down – so I really have to limit myself to one glass of wine/hour. I’m not a lightweight, but I hate feeling any more than slightly buzzed. However, I’ve gotten drunk probably 3-4 times in my life, and luckily never had a hangover, but usually it followed not eating enough or drinking enough water throughout the night, and having a lot of really good drinks offered. As I’ve gotten older I’ve learned to just pace myself and enjoy the night.

@freshflowers: I totally agree! I hate it. I like a very light buzz and that’s it!

I like being drunk when it is just me and my SO hanging out and being silly. In mixed company, I prefer to keep it at moderately tipsy at most. I don’t like feeling like I don’t have control over my words and actions.

I like a strong buzz, but not being all out drunk.

There is a difference between being drunk and being sick. I like drunk. I do not like sick. Tonight I will be drunk 🙂

@freshflowers: Im with you 100%!!!! I actually dont drink alcohol at all and never have. I have had like a sip here and there through out my life but never a drink to myself. I dont mind others being drunk around me cause I can have fun without alcohol. I see how crappy people feel after a night of drinking and I wonder how anyone finds that fun!!!

I honestly hate being drunk too. Two or three drinks will give me a nice buzz so I normally stop there. We’re going to my FBIL’s tonight for a NYE party and he is very pushy when he’s drinking. If he’s drunk, he wants EVERYONE to be drunk. It get’s rather annoying. He’s one of the people I wish could see himself drunk, although I doubt it would change his mind about alcohol.

Even though I’m in college, I’ve never been a fan of drinking. Both sides of my family have members that suffer from alcoholism and I’ve seen what that does to people and it scares me. That being said I behave been drunk more then once and it does help me become less shy around people, which is good because I’m pretty timid. But I got a really bad case of gut rut once and it was horrible. I will never be able to understand the people that get drunk every weekend because my hangovers suck! Im pretty good at knowing when Ive had enough and I start drinking water. So much better than drink until I feel like death! So I totally agree with you!

I don’t like the feeling I get when I’m between tipsy and flat out drunk. I feel sick, woozy, and tired. So I just don’t drink! If I do, it’s only a frozen mikes or something and it’s VERY seldom [last time was.. new years eve!.. so I average 1 drink a a year.. lol].

@freshflowers: I absolutely love being drunk…but then I’m recovering from an alcohol problem haha. So maybe that answers your question in a backwards way.

FH and I, totally. Non-drinkers by choice. Abandoned NYE llans last night because we were exhausted & wanted to avoid all the drinking.
