Hi Bees – I love love my Ering, but the band is a little on the thick side (3mm) for my size 4.75 hands. I love how it looks now, but cant imagine adding another layer to it. My Fiance is adament I get a band so people know I am married. I do not want to switch my Ering to my right hand, so wearing seperate isnt a good option.
My question is, when I do get my wedding band, should I stick to the exact same style as my Ering (diamonds on all 3 sides), or just go with a less “thick” band that only matches from the top. My ring is all over this site, but in case you havent seen, here are some pics to give you an idea of what I mean.

@prncss47: why get one if you dont want one? I dont have a wedding band for my ring!!! 🙂

Why get one with diamonds at all? Your Engagement Ring is so sparkly and gorgeous, I think a delicate, thin, plain band would work well with it.

I also just have one ring and love it. As for your FI’s concerns about people knowing you are married I’m pretty sure anyone who sees that beautiful ring on your ring will know that you are not on the market!

@Baileyh: I hate the way wedding bands look with my e-ring cut!!! I was considering if I get one (a band) to just wear it on my right hand! It’s nice to hear that I’m not the only one!
To the OP- I would just consider doing what I am doing… I am not sure I would bump anything plain up to that pretty band and hide it! I would replicate the diamonds on the band if you are able to.

@prncss47: I agree with mightywombat…just get a thin small wedding band to wear with your e-ring. I think it will look great together without adding additional “bulk”

Given your ring, I think a plain thin white gold/platinum band would look lovely.

i don’t want a band either….but FH really wants to get me one so i told him i wouldnt take anything more than the skinniest plain white gold band he could find….lol its a compromise i suppose…lol i love my e-ring too much, what can i say! =)

That was how I felt until I went shopping for bands…and then I was hooked. ‘What? More diamonds?? Yes!’
…and on that note, I think you should get just something simple and elegant. Even if it’s a skinny eternity band.

You could always get a band and just wear it on your right hand so it doesnt take anything away from your e-ring

I originally had one ring but it started to feel incomplete to me. People did ask me when I was getting married on a fairly regular basis. My one ring though, is a round diamond solitaire so it kind of screams ENGAGED. I am much happier now with having a wedding ring, but your ring is very substantial on its own so perhaps you won’t have the same issues. It is gorgeous.

i really wanted a band, but could not for the life of me find one that went with my e-ring! it was really discouraging. then one day after getting discouraged looking at rings, my Fiance said “why not wear your e-ring on the other hand and get a wedding band that you like!” and i was instantly sold on the idea! so finally i got the wedding band i LOVED and after i am married, i will have a ring on both hands, i love it and i cant wait to start wearing it!

i’m in the exact same boat (and my ring is very similar to yours). I hate to think i’ll have to cover the diamonds on one side of the ring by wearing another ring with it. I definitely am going to get a wedding ring, for the reasons other mentioned, but i think i may wear it on my right hand.

@mightywombat: This, exactly. A thin, plain band is the best way to respect your FI’s wish that you wear a wedding band while not taking away from your gorgeous e-ring.
