Your not insane, I didn’t do it intentionally, I just had a few larger items that I didn’t have the heart to through out when I lost weight. And thank goodness I didn’t cause i have worn them all through my pregnancy. I think it is a very smart move!

@lisha_1988:  Hey no, but I imagine most of the bees are in bed cause of the time difference.

I lost a huge amount of weight before my wedding, and I deliberately kept some of my favourite bigger clothes that I could use when I became pregnant.  I felt silly doing so, but now I’m glad I did, because hopefully they will tide me over until the fall, and then I’ll only have to buy one batch of maternity clothes!

I definitely did this, and I think bigger sizes of regular clothing work well for some women.  But for me, maternity clothes ended up being more comfortable and flattering most of the time.  I think tops that are more generous in the bust, and/or are long in length would be the most useful (vs. stuff that’s boxy or just big all over).  I do have one pair of plain black yoga type pants that I just bought in the next size up and have been one of my pregnancy favorites though!

I haven’t tossed out a lot of my bigger clothes – one reason is because I have a tendency to gain weight back 🙁 but the other is because I figure they will come in handy when we do start TTC whenever that may be. A lot of my clothes have give so hopefully I won’t be needing a huge new wardrobe when I get pregnant 🙂

I kind of wish I had done this. Not too long ago I got rid of almost everything that was too big now. And now we are ttc and I think that I should of kept some of the tops so I won’t have to buy so much maternity. Oh well, now I know.

I lost 30 pounds and kept a few things.  I heard someone say they had done this but it didn’t work- that larger clothes don’t work on a smaller but pregnant frame.  I hope that doesn’t prove true.  I would love to hear from bees who have been pregnant about how that works.

@lisha_1988:  I totally did that. The whole time we were TTC I bought larger sizes and avoiding spending much money on clothing or high heels because I knew I wouldnt need them once pregnancy came along! Now I am the oppisite…I am 6 months pregnant and CANT WAIT to get my body back—I am already buying my size xs shirts in hopes that i’ll get my prepregnancy body back.

@lisha_1988:  I did not do it, but I don’t think you’re insane. This is actually a smart move, and you’ll be happy you’ve put those aside when you actually need them!
