I knew it would happen once it got warm out and the beach trip got closer… I’ve completely put off planning the wedding… lol I still need to figure out the officiant stuff and put a payment on the photographer but besides that I won’t even think about any major planning until summer is over and I’m waiting for the busy season AKA (Halloween- which for us is September & October) to start. Then I won’t start planning again until November… I guess this is my calm before the storm… Anyone else ‘taking the summer off’?

We pushed the date back a year so I’m taking 7 months off from planning 😛 I’ll officially start planning again January ’12.
Til then, I’m just hanging around the Bee and gathering up a ton of inspiration.
(oops.. I’m not June ’12 but oh well.)

Aahahaha! Me too! It’s been a month or so since I stopped planning. But that’s only because we are waiting for a meeting with our potential vendor in June =] But this will definitely BE our vendor, no matter what date we have (even if that means I’m out of June 2012) It’s fine =]=]=]

@Gingersnap: it’s not just for June bee’s it’s for everybee. lol. I just wanted to know I wasn’t the only one being lazy. (when in fact I’m actually busting my butt to get my house clean and organized and get everything together for the beach… but you know what I mean- wedding lazy)

@missmuggins: Yeah I didn’t want June… the venue had a June spot available… we took it since they were almost fully booked for all 3 months we liked in 2012. April/ September and October… June was our 4th choice tehe.

i recommend buying stuff at holiday clearance though. our colors are red black and silver and red and silver were big this year at christmas. photo booth props are amazing from the halloween sales and sparklers will be out in july! just keep an eye on sales its the best way to get more bang for your buck!

@cr6zy: Yeah I plan to look for large outdoor fountains once summers over and fake trees and flowers around the end of summer too… =D

I took a break from like February – May. Haha that’s the nice part about long engagements! I can do nothing for 3 months and not be concerned. I’m getting back into it now though… Trying to book the last of our vendors and starting to think about the smaller details.

Ya I’m a Sept 2012 and besides getting some STD’s together soon I decided I’m taking the summer off too haha. I’m too busy with other people’s weddings, cottaging and general summer stuff so I’ll save my planning for when it gets cold and I’m trapped inside.

I’m a little closer than you all but I’m taking pretty much a month off.
Mostly it is because I have to- I’ll be rehearsing my half of the first dance but otherwise there’s not much I can do. Starting Sunday I’ll be spending a month in a rural town in the Guatemalan highlands doing research, I don’t have room for wedding stuff in my duffel bag.

I have basically taken this past month off. I called a potential officiant back in April and she recommended that I called her at the end of the month to set up a meeting for June. I should be planning for this meeting but I just need a bit of a break.

I feel like I am behind for my hopefully June ’12 date, but have only been engaged for about 3 weeks so have to give myself slack. However, there will be no breaks this summer because I want to get as much done as possible before my final year of grad school starts in September and I’ll have no time for wedding planning :(. I will hopefully just have final prep to do after grad and before the wedding in next year.

I took quite a break while my grad classes wrapped up for the semester, so I am just now getting back into the swing of things! Though I am kind of putting off thinking about some of it for now…it’s stressful!

I thought I was the only one. I told my fiance I don’t want to talk wedding for two months. And since that conversation, I’ve been soo much more relaxed and less stressed. I refuse to let the wedding day become a bigger ordeal than the dream day that I have always wanted. I don’t want it to seem like a chore on a long list of things to do and I think this break is really helping. Plus it is allowing us time to save before we have to start paying more deposits and spending more money on supplies for invitations and decor. I know there will be a big sale on all wedding items at the end of this major wedding season so I’m gearing up for that!!!

I’ve been taking time off, not intentionally, but because there are other parts of my life that need focus at the moment. I’m a teacher and this is our last term with our students before their high-stakes assessments so that has been full on. I’ve also been starting up a side business so a lot of my nights have been spent building a website and business planning. I have got the save-the-dates together and I will be sending them out this month, have our engagement photos and engagement party next month but I have a sneaking suspicion that it won’t be until October that things ramp up again!
