Omg I can’t wait for this to be over. I’ve seen them a long time ago, all out of order of course, and just don’t get the hype

You may be one of the few who as yet know nothing about Star Wars. Resistance is futile.

marylen:  How on earth did you avoid it??

I grew up with the movies (mom is a sci fi fan) and have friends who are secret and not-so-secret hardcore Star Wars nerds. I haven’t rewatched them in a hot minute but I can probably name some of the planets and the major characters. I’ll probably see the new one in a month or so when I don’t have to get in line for tickets an hour ahead of showtime–I’ll happily put my dollars towards a big budget sci fi with an actual diverse cast and my boo Gwendoline Christie starring as the villain.

Darling Husband made me watch the original 3 when we were first dating (well, he wanted me to, I don’t seem to remember much actual watching taking place).

He’s going to some special showing with some friends for the new one, so I am spared that. I don’t really care if I see it or not.

I saw the very first one ever made. Haven’t had any desire to watch the others. You’re not alone. Haha

marylen:  You’re not alone.  I don’t care about Star Wars, Darling Husband doesn’t either.  As a result, our kids are also indifferent to it.  Our home is Star Wars free.

We’re big Star Wars nerds. We have costumes and an extensive collection of lightsabers.

My Fiance and I have tickets to a marathon, starts at 1:00am shows all 7 movies, ending with the new one tomorrow at 7. I have to do something at work in the morning, so I’m just going for episodes IV – VII. I remember seeing the original ones in the theater, I’ve always liked them, but my Fiance is a die hard fan. And he’s gotten his daughters hooked. Star Wars is big in our house.

Ha! I don’t get it either. The movies were played a few times during laidback periods in high school, but I could never get into it.

I watched all 6 episodes recently (having seen parts of the original 3 over the years) and my main takeaway was that the movies teach themes of good v. evil but mostly that young boys should learn to be in touch with their feelings.  Ha. I told my husband and he looked at me like I was crazy.
