Am i the only person over wedding planning?posted 3 months ago in Emotional

Oh gawd, I am so OVER wedding planning. We have about 2 months to go, and getting my SO to actually sit down and focus on wedding stuff has been like pulling teeth. I get it, a lot of this stuff isn’t fun, but I’m not the one who wanted the big wedding (she was!) and I will NOT do all of the work to make the big wedding happen.
I am exhausted from keeping track of all the different deadlines and due-dates and when payments are due and when the caterer needs sign-off on the final menu and when we need to provide proof of insurance to the venue and all of those other moving parts.
I’m sick of making countless phone calls. I’m sick of sending dozens of emails and text messages and trying to get responses from vendors.
I’m tired of vendors only being available for mandatory in-person meetings from Mon-Fri, 9 am – 5 pm. I can’t keep taking vacation days from work! (I understand that they’re not going to be available on weekends as they’ll likely be providing services at weddings, but c’mon, how about some weekday evening hours?)
I’m beyond frustrated with our wedding planner, and sick at the amount of money we’ve paid her and how little she’s done in actuality.
I’ve told everyone I know who is newly engaged or hoping to be engaged soon that they should elope instead of planning a wedding.

- Wedding: June 2019
You’re definitely not alone, I am now less than 3 months out and my entire life has turned into a panic. I overheard a bit on the radio this morning that I felt in my soul, where they were talking about wedding planning and brides being so stressed out because it is literally a second job. They were naming statistics like brides having spent a combined 9 hours just trying to create their guest list and get ahold of their guests!
I just had a major crisis this week where I learned there is a HUGE country music festival in town the same night as my wedding, and it will be taking place in a park right next door to my wedding venue. So not only are hotels completely booked in the area already (so my 35 room block is all I have and anyone who doesn’t get one of those is SOL), but now I’m worried that the music next door will be so loud it’ll drown out my wedding ceremony. So furstrating!!!!!
I’m working and a full-time student as well so I have all these papers and exams to work with and then when I’m exhausted from all of that I remember the list of wedding things I still have to do and haven’t the energy for! Wish I had had an extra 5k sitting around to just get a wedding planner lol. I can’t wait to just be married and be done with this!
