The side effects of latisse that I’ve heard about is that it can make light eyes turn partially or fully brown. I don’t know how often that happens, but it has happened. I have blue/green eyes and I would be so sad if they changed so I wouldn’t risk it. If you have brown eyes, though, you’re probably good to go! I’d be hesitant to get any permanent eye liner or other makeup–I’ve seen people who got theirs done a long time ago and…let’s just say it hasn’t aged well.

@Ms. Flowers:  You know, I would have done invisaline and veneers if I could afford it. I hope I don’t regret it later.

I’m just going to do the basic makeup, waxing, cosmetics. Money is just too tight for anything else. :

@Ms. Flowers:  That’s a good point. 🙂  It’s definitely in the plan later.

I guess I’m pretty low maintenance lol

i’ve had lasik, expensive skin care, micro peels, facials, teeth whitening at the dentist, eyebrow threading…i’m young so i don’t really need botox and allo of that stuff

I’d really like do some sort of hair straightening treatment

@Ms. Flowers:  haha that is exactly what I mean 🙂

Yes I’ve had really good success with the invisalign so far. I had perfectly straight teeth before but they just had spaces in the front. I only needed 12 trays (6 months) to get the look I desired. I think that it was a great decision and they are pretty easy to have. I liked that noone even knew I was wearing them ever.

I would definitely recommend shopping around for Invisalign though. I went to 5 different orthos/dentists and got quote drastically different price points. I was quoted anywhere from $6000 CAD to $3500 CAD and these guys were two block from eachother. Also some of the dentists I saw were recommending Invisalign PLUS vaneers or were insisting that I get a cleaning before.. lots of stuff. I didn’t realize until I wanted Invisalign how much dentists are like salespeople. Not all, because the dentist I went with is a genuinely nice person and didn’t try to overcharge me or sell me something I didn’t.

I don’t generally do a whole lot to myself, although I would love to do laser hair removal. I see Groupons for it a lot, but I’ve neber broken down and bought one. I think before the wedding, I’ll probably:

– get a manicure/pedicure

– do some sort of teeth whitening, probably just out of the box

– bikini wax

I don’t think permanent cosmetic procedures (rhinoplasty, etc) are for me, but I am in no way against them. If it makes you feel good about yourself and gives a self-confidence boost, then I’m all for it. My mom recently had a lumpectomy for breast cancer and gets to have some cosmetic surgery done on her girls… she’s excited, and given how terrible of a year she’s had, good for her!

@Ms. Flowers:  I say go for it, if you’ve thought about it for that long then I think you are totally ready!! You are going to love it. I had my deviated septum (sp?) fixed while thy were in there doing my nose and I’m glad I did that too! Goo luck! Keep us posted!

I definitely want to get lasik at some point. I also wouldn’t mind a nose job and laser hair removal

I was thinking of getting eyelash extensions instead of wearing falsies.

Also, my boss is making me a Snap-On Smile (I’m a dental assistant, and I get to be the guinea pig since its new to our dental office).

If I end up not liking it, I’ll just continue to use whitening

I finished invisalign last year and just got lasik a couple months ago. BEST DECISIONS EVER!!! My teeth were so crooked I would rarely smile and felt self conscious CONSTANTLY. My happiness is priceless so the money was totally worth it. The lasik was great as well. My prescription was so bad I couldn’t see anything clearly that was more than 3 inches from my face. To the ppl who worry about lasik: don’t. The risk of something going wrong is so insanely low that it’s practically crazy to even worry about it .The lasers are so advanced they’re capable of detecting eye movement and stopping and restarting the laser once your eye returns to the position it needs to be in. It happens in a tiny fraction of a second.

I would love to fix my eye brows and get a breast touch up post-children.

Man I am so opposite. I spend 1 and 1/2 hrs. in the mornings taking care of the sanctuary cats  which leaves me 1/2 hr. to get showered, dressed and apply make-up. I do not tweeze my eyebrows or get manicures, I would never get anything injected into my face or have elective plastic surgery. Reviva Labs have excellent skin care products that work really well without icky stuff in them plus no added fragrances and more importantly, no animal testing.

I must not being doing too bad as I have a Fiance who is 11 years younger than me and two other men who are “interested” but who are FINALLY getting the message that i am unavailable. My college students and lab assistants tell me that I am beautiful all the time.

The older I get (and I am 54 now) the more  I feel a decreasing need to seek physical perfection. To me, daily exercise, water and proper nutrients are the best “cosmetics” of all.

I am definitely looking in to laser eye surgery before the wedding. I don’t qualify for iLasik, so will need PRK – I’m a bit scared!!

As for other “cosmetic” treatments, I will be getting my brows shaped (never plucked before in my life!) and will probably get a mani/pedi 🙂

I guess I’m just a back to basics kind of gal…

My morning routine involves a shower, brushing my teeth & hair, and a little lipstick & mascara to help me feel a bit more “together”. In the evenings I wash my face, and use a basic moisturizer… Beyond that, I like the way I look.
