First of all, go with what you love, its your wedding day!

Second of all, to me that looks totally appropriate for someone in their 30s, and you’re on the young side of that!  I’m in my late 20s and went for tons of beading & lace, but if I was older I could see myself going for a dress like that.

I had the opposite problem, at one store my mom and sister were trying to get me to try on a bunch of disney dresses (there was a trunk sale).  Had I been 18-20 I probably would have been drawn to them.  I’m also small and tried on the belle dress for my sister.  I was not wearing that dress, it was wearing me and she made some remark which I couldn’t make out when I came out in it.  I’m pretty sure it wasn’t very nice, so I knew she agreed!  Luckily at the second store, they both liked the dresses I liked!  It made my decision easier, but even without their support, I would have picked the same dress.

I agree with others.  You’re not too old for this dress.  I’m 29 and mine is VERY similiar and I LOVE it!

I don’t think there is an age limit on puffy dresses. My aunt wore full skirt and she was 40 when she got married, is a doctor and has very good taste. Same thing goes for a veil. It seems like your family is really old fashioned or traditional or something especially considering that 30 is still a very normal age for marriage these days and still considered YOUNG.

Nope… You can’t wear it.  You’re too young.  You have to be much older…like your mid 40s to wear a dress like that.

Just kidding!

You certainly can wear it if that is your dream dress and what you imagine yourself wearing as you walk down the aisle.  Your wedding–your dream–you make the rules.

You should wear whatever you want, it’s your dream day! I’m sure no matter what you decide your family will think you look lovely.

@dynamic_duo: Wow!  Not that 30 is old, because it’s definitely not.. but I really would’ve guessed you were younger.

OP, 30 is definitely NOT old!  I will be 29 on my wedding day and I will most def be wearing a veil AND a poofy dress, LoL.  Your fam is crazy.. wear the dress & veil you want.. you will look BEAUTIFUL!

If you love it, wear it and with a veil. I cannot believe your family would try to crush your dreams like that 🙁

I don’t know why your family is saying that?! I am 29, will be 30 in September, and I am a Sabelle bride. All of my family LOVES the dress and I haven’t heard any comments about me being too old for it. Plus, I am having a cathedral length veil with it. I say you should ROCK IT!

I’m confused. I’m 25 and people in my area thing I’m too young to get married. i don’t think 5 years makes any major difference! Wear what you want! Rock the Sabelle! They’ll get over it, it’s your wedding.

Age is not a factor to consider.

I think it has more to do with how it looks and feels to you when trying it on. A lot of times we love dresses from a picture but when we try it on its a totally different story. Dont let that age bullshit get to you. Thats old school stereotypical sexist comments and you should remind these people of that the next time they say something along those lines to you.
