OK everyone, this is my entire dressilyme.com experience, which has been great! Hopefully it’ll be helpful to future brides considering dressilyme =)
To begin, here is the inspiration pic:
And this is me with the dress on!!
I am struggling with some armpit fat issues. I’m not use to wearing strapless dress so I feel like the armpit fat is coming out BECAUSE I keep trying to pull the dress up as high as I could. The laceback is already pretty tight (you can see there’s not much room).
The question is, AM I WEARING THE DRESS PROPERLY??? Should I not be wearing it as high? Or does it need alternations to take it in a bit so I can tighten it even more?? I see other brides who wear strapless dresses and they don’t seem to have the dress so high up. But then I also have this horrifying fear of it falling down on me.

its to high. my dress does the samething. when i sit it digs so deep into my armpits. the lady who sold me my dress said that it can be altered to correct it. just go talk to whom ever is doing your alterations

@katie34667: do you mean I’m wearing it too high, or the dress’s cut is cut too high?? I don’t have someone to do alterations yet (looks like I’ll have to look)…

Are you wearing a bra? To me, it looks like your bust is sagging below where the dress expects it to be — like your bustline is too low and therefore the dress is too high. I think you need proper undergarments and possibly also alterations.

it does look a little high. try not to compare it to the model, she has a much longer torso so it will fit her differently. it does look like she is wearing a fuller crinoline though.

I thinkit’s sitting a little to high too. We are all naturally a little fatty there. : ). We all show that bump in certain positions. Stop hiking your dress up. You look beautiful!!! : )))

I think you are wearing it to high… But if you lace the dress to tightly it will cause your skin to bubble out over the top. Try wearing it down a little lower and dont pull the laces as tight as they can go. If you still feel insecure, take it to a seamstress… many bridal shops will alter a gown even if they didn’t sell it to you.

We all have fat there — it’s part of the whole boob package. Note how the model is holding her shoulders back, which stretches that area and makes it look smooth.
Anyway, I agree with the others — it’s just sitting a bit high. I think it’s more of an alterations issue than simply pulling it down a llittle, but I’m no expert. See what the tailor thinks.
