Am I wrong for being frustrated?

Does the venue have an alternate contact? A few of the ones I looked at had only ONE coordinator. If she has her own wedding coming up, I would expect her to become even more of a nightmare to work with. I don’t think you are in the wrong at all about this, I’m just not sure what else can be done if the venue has only one coordinator.

I don’t think you’re out of line for being frustrated and I agree that’s it’s really annoying for her to always talk about her own wedding. However, I may be able to offer a little context about the timliness of the communication.

As someone who works in museums, including ones that host weddings, I can tell you that weddings are usually pretty low on the priority list. It’s not because they aren’t important and we don’t care (they are and we do), but the museum is first and foremost a museum. Our day to day work revolves around museum visitors, events, etc. Also keep in mind that depending on the size of the museum, your contact person may be doing far more than coordinating weddings. It doesn’t make it right, but it may offer some context.

prink022 :  In any case, I’m sorry that you have to deal with this. It sounds like you will have to take a bit more control which, as a business owner yourself I’m sure you’re capable of, but I understand that it’s frustrating.

prink022 :  If the museum is closed during the week, she’s likely part time. Might be another reason she has trouble scheduling everything.
