My sweet, kind, gentle father came over tonight for a visit. SO is out of town so it was just the two of us. After chit chatting about life and work, he said “hey, I’ve got something to show you” he pulled out a coin from his pocket and handed it to me. It didn’t take 5 seconds for me to realize it wasn’t a coin. It was his first al-anon token.
I’m still crying, my heart is singing. I’m so proud of him.
I just needed to share.

3 years ago today I held my brothers hand when he passed away from complications caused by drug addiction. Stories like these really lift my heart. Your father is a strong and brave man. Congratulations to you and most importantly congratulations to your father!
This really brightened my day. Thank you for sharing it.
