My SO just did something so incredibly amazing to ease my own engagement anxiety. I’m gushing with love. I just read a negative review about my dream ring (just a simple cushion halo with micro-pave band) that he’s hopefully in the process of picking out, and told him he might be “off the engagement hook” until I figure out what else I would want. I said this because I know I’ve been a bit unbearable with the ring talk lately. He’s got to be exhausted, and this was my way to apologize and give him a bit of a break.
Instead of saying, “woo hoo, deal!” he replied to me with, “That’s nonsense. It’s one bad reaction amongst hundreds. You will get exactly what you want, and if it’s not what you want when you get it, we’ll do whatever it takes to make it perfect.”
My GOD, I love this man.
Anyone else want to make me swoon with stories of your SO/FI being amazing through all this? I get so bored with the rants. I wanna see some love! 🙂

He has totally taken over the financial part of it which is shocking and amazing. I run the household finances and keep track of it like my life depends on it, but its an added responsibility stress that takes a toll on me. When I told Fiance that we had $5,000 to spend on a wedding and not a penny more, he broke the spreadsheet and went to town – the man has saved every receipt for the last 3 months which has saved my butt more than once.

@aliavenue: That’s awesome! An organized man is a very special breed 🙂 Spreadsheets are such a turn-on. haha

Well, it wasn’t exactly for the wedding, but my Fiance emailed me a little while ago that he’s been online today searching for the perfect beach house for us to rent for our honeymoon. * sigh of love * . And, although this isn’t traditional, he’s taking me wedding dress shopping this weekend. For the third time.
And spreadsheets – omg! I’m not sure exactly why it’s so hot, but when Fiance is on his computer at home, working away on planning our finances I suddenly just WANT him, lol. 😉

I’m so lucky, I can’t begin to imagine being able to list all the awesome things he has done. He is definetly one of the best parts of the whole wedding process!
He handles phonecalls, and has been to almost all the vendor meetings, he keeps track of our guestlist and printed the mailing labels for the invitations. He also organized what we want to do for the ceremony. He’s supportive of my various DIY crafts, helping me find various odds and ends and accepting the clutter. He’s helped with some of the crafts as needed as well.
He also keeps me sane dealing with both his family and mine 🙂

@Sunfire: Dress shopping!!! AHH! Keeper 🙂 And yeah, something about, “Oh, look at me being all manly and responsible and keeping us from bankrupcy in a detail oriented way….” *pounce*
@manako: Seriously. Can I borrow him to train mine when it’s time for our wedding? I can only pray he’s that into it.
