Fiance and I went to look at wedding bands today and were kind of disappointed. Anything I liked was too pricey and Fiance hardly found anything that he would even consider. I’ve been browsing online and came across a few on Amazon and Overstock that Fiance likes and quite a few that would work for me too.
I’m sure the quality isn’t fantastic but we plan to upgrade in the future anyway. Believe it or not, the rings aren’t that important to us (I actually keep forgetting about them in our budget). We still want something that looks nice and is decent quality but I’d also like to do it on the cheap.
Does anyone have an Amazon or Overstock band? Are you happy with your purchase?

My husband’s wedding band is a tungsten ring from Amazon. The quality is exactly the same as a ring you would buy from a jewellery store. This is it exactly! He loves it.

It’s not a wedding band but my Fiance bought my engagement ring on Amazon (I picked it out-it’s a placeholder ring until we get an heirloom diamond set). It is a white gold solitaire and was a fantastic deal. When I got the ring, I couldn’t believe the quality of the workmanship. When I went to a jeweler, we had considered trading it in for my new setting, and they offered twice what we paid for it. They couldn’t believe we got it for what we did. We did not end up trading it in and I’m so glad because I want to keep it! The diamond is ridiculously sparkly for a .3 carat under $300. I would tell anyone to definitely go with Amazon.

I am trying to upload a real pic of it, but weddingbee keeps giving me an error. We bought this one. It’s AWESOME. Darker in real life. Only downside is that it can’t be resized.

We got ours from overstock.com. Very simple, plain gold bands, and paid around $250 for both of them. Couldn’t be happier with them (and from the second I took mine out of the box to check the fit, it felt better than the ones we had tried on at the jewelry store).

i had the same experience where everything i liked in the mall stores was twice what i wanted to pay. then i decided to look at one store on boxing day (the canadian equivalent of Black friday) and the same rings i had been seeing for $900 was on sale for 60% off! so i snatched it up – with tax, i paid $400. my point: if you time, wait and look for sales then get the one you want!

I had ordered one from Overstock, and was really happy with it! It just ended up being a little too thin. It was definitely beautiful though!

We bought DH’s ring from Overstock. He really liked tungsten rings, but they wanted way too much for them in local jewelry stores. I saw one on Overstock for under $100, and I ordered it *just* to see if he’d like it. He ended up loving it! It’s great quality for the price. I’d recommend ordering through them if you find something you like.

if you plan on upgrading your rings one day, and you don’t need this ring to last forever, then I say go for it! you can save money by choosing 10K gold too. you can find rings like that at sears, jcpenney, amazon, and a few other places.
also, if you are ok with getting a non diamond band but you want something a little nicer than Sears quality, I really love the wedding / anniversary rings at moissaniteco.com and gemvara. more affordable than diamonds, and really great styles.
for him: I once bought a plain stainless steel band from an online store called “sabrina silver” (to wear as a thumb ring). it’s nice, sturdy and solid. I think any of their stainless bands would work well for a man’s wedding band. they have about a million styles too.

i got my wedding band from there, and couldnt be more pleased! its 3/4ct. t.w. princess cut diamonds, to match my solitaire princess cut band.
i think the quality is excellent (to my eye at least! 🙂 ), and shipping and returns/exchanges were really helpful (i had to send the sz 8 back for a sz 7).
i think a wedding band (his or yours) from overstock is fine! 🙂

Yep, we just received ours last weekend. Most things from the big chain jewelry stores are marked up and overpriced IMO, unless you can find a great sale. Another thing I noticed is the selection isn’t nearly as great as you’d think. We went looking @ Dunkin’s Diamonds for his band- he was dead set on choosing a black ring, and tried on a couple plain (no gold, jewels, etc) titanium and tungsten bands- none were under the $200 mark. Then I found an identical ring on Amazon for $40! I never found anything I liked in stores, mine is from Overstock for $300, and I’m in LOVE with it 🙂

@deetroitwhat: what metal and style is your grooms ring. I’m looking for that style.
