ADemby1:  Guess I’m the minority here, but I think the first pair are absolutely adorable! I think they’re a perfect ‘something blue’ for a milso:) not to mention they fit in with the rustic feel

ADemby1:  I wouldn’t call it tacky but I am of the school of thought that a countries flag should be shown a certain level of respect and that includes not wearing in certains ways and not letting it come into contact with the ground.

ADemby1:  To me that is just semantics. A frayed or tattered flag is not a full flag but it should still be treated with the respect that all countries flags should be treated. In the US there are specific procedures and ceremonies around the disposal of old/unused flags carried out through the American legion or league and the postal service I believe.

j_jaye:  Wearing a flag as clothing makes me angry. Like, seriously one of my pet peeves. In the military community, people love to do this.. Or use it as a prop. I’ve seen engagment photos with couples sitting on the flag at the beach. Or wrapping themselves in the flag while it touches the ground. Uh, Not cool.

Wearing clothing that has a flag on it (not made of a flag). Not my style but not a big deal. The boots fall into the second category for me.

ADemby1:  I’m not American, so maybe my opinion isn’t so valid, but I don’t think it would be that tacky. I think depending on the finished look it could work well! There are a lot of trends and fashion-forward things that when done right, can be really great!

Since its under a wedding dress you hardly see the shoes, the part that peaks out (I’m talking boot #1) is pretty normal boot and not so much obvious flag.  You won’t see the full boot always… But I do think it has the potential to make some great photos!

ADemby1:  I like the idea of boots, especially if that’s you. What about something like this….

Not my taste but I wouldn’t call it tacky. I was always under the impression that weddings were meant to be a reflection of the couple. If that reflection includes the American flag or variations of, then go for it. FWIW, I vote for the 1st pair.
