I recently signed up to be a Captain for the American Heart Walk and I am so excited to be able to help raise money and awareness for such a great organization. I usually am not so hands on with charity organizations due to unfortunate time constraints with my job but this organization is very near and dear to my heart. 2 years ago I lost my grandfather to heart disease, he and I were so close and I miss him dearly! Ever since I lost my grandfather I have been doing my absolute best to live a “heart healthy” lifestyle and also raise awareness not only to others but to those within my family. Cardiovascular disease affects 1 in 3 men AND women, which means that someone that you know will be affected or has been by this deadly disease.
As a team captain I have pledged to raise $300, and I am hoping that I can exceed that amount to help the efforts of this amazing organization. Every $1 helps, and if you are able to help me reach my goal I would greatly appreciate it and you will be helping to save the lives of countless individuals. I have included the link to my donation website for the American Heart Association.
Did you know that heart disease claims the lives of more people than the next 3 leading causes of death combined? Here is how your online donation will help:
-$25 gives 50 people educational materials that teach them how to personally reduce their risk of heart diseases and stroke
-$50 delivers the message of healthy nutrition to elementary school students through lesson plans and activity guides
-$100 allows one hospital to teach its patients, caregivers, and health professionals about the risks of stroke – the nation’s No. 4 killer
Thank you and God Bless!
